Saving Green and Going Green :)
(TY to "pixie" from my April08mamas group)
In a 4 oz spray bottle, put a little over 3 ounces of witch hazel, and about a tablespoon of your favorite oil (jojoba, olive, whatever you’ve got around should work OK) {I used EVOO-first cold compressed}
Add 10-15 drops of the following essential oils. Let your nose be a guide, and add a little more of the ones that you like the smell of most, less of the ones you don’t.
Lavender
Tea Tree
Citronella
Cedarwood
Lemon-Eucalyptus
Lemongrass
Rosemary
Peppermint
Shake it up well each time before you use it.
I bought some Castile soap today. My next adventure is to make laundry detergent. Here's the recipe I was given by "HVH2004" from BBC
Half a bar of castille soap (grated) {We will try Dr Bronner's Lavender for adult clothes and unscented/mild/baby for Brendan's clothes} -add the baking soda to the water in a jug -melt the soap in a pan (you may need to add some water to the pan when done to make it go into the jug better) -then shake it all up The contents separate, so each time shake the jug and pour about half cup per load.
1 cup baking soda {Most recipes I've seen say washing soda so we'll try that}
1 gallon hot water
Then I'll try various cleaning products around the home. I got Orange and Lemon EOs and know those will smell awesome on our floors and stuff! Any ideas for recipes? Let me hear them!
